First Scout Promises
Five members of the First Oxford Scout Troop of St Philip Neri made their scout promises yesterday. A video produced by the scouts can be seen below:
By making their promises, they became the first scouts in an English troop of the International Guides and Scouts of Europe, a network of Catholic Guides and Scouts supported by the Holy See.
Catholic Scouting is an adventure for boys aged 11–17, and a way to live out the Christian vocation to holiness. Scouts are formed as men of faith and sons of the Church, by developing their physical health, practical skills, character and personality, service to their neighbour, and relationship with God.
