Youth Group Talk – The Presentation of the Lord
This Sunday, Fr Jerome will be talking about the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple. Armed only with a Bible, he will unpack the story handed down to us in St Luke’s Gospel.
Meet in the parish centre after the Sunday evening Mass (about 7:30) for drinks (provided!) and food (bring and share!). The talk will begin at 8pm in the parish centre, and will end with Compline at around 9pm.
Angela Sloan R.I.P.
Angela Clare (née Sloan) was a much-loved class teacher at St Aloysius’ Catholic Primary School for seven years, before becoming ill last summer. She died on Friday 24th January, at the age of 39. Staff and pupils have been greatly saddened, and will be coming to church on Friday (31st) for a Requiem Mass at 10am.
Angela’s funeral Mass will take place at the Immaculate Conception, Bicester on Thursday 6th February at 10am.
May she rest in peace.
New painting unveiled
The new portrait by Alvin Ong, of Blessed Salvio Huix-Miralpeix was unveiled in the Parish Centre this morning, and parishioners had the opportunity to meet the artist.
We are very pleased with the work, which depicts the pectoral cross worn by Blessed Salvio, which he asked to be sent to the Pope, and conveys the pastoral heart and determined witness of this martyr.
Alvin Ong is willing to take on other commissions – which would also be a way of raising money for our fundraising Campaign. Please speak to Fr Daniel if you are interested.
Alvin discusses his work:

A new painting
The young Singaporean artist Alvin Ong, who is studying at the Ruskin School of Fine Art, has painted a fine new portrait of Blessed Salvio Huix-Miralpeix, our first martyr, beatified last October.
The painting, which we hope will go in our church, will be unveiled in the Parish Centre after the Solemn Mass this coming Sunday (26th January), when you will also be able to meet the artist himself!
