Near St Therese is the start of the fourteen Stations of the Cross. These were carved by Basil Champneys and brought from the Cherwell Edge Convent when it closed, a gift of the Holy Child Sisters.
Returning to the back of the church, the two modern paintings over the doors are of St Aloysius helping the plague victims of Rome, and of the martyrdom of Saints Edmund Campion, Alexander Bryant and Ralph Sherwin, three of Oxford's many martyrs of Reformation times. In the centre is the carved 'Calvary', depicting Jesus on the Cross, with his Mother and the beloved disciple on either side. It was given by the nuns of Bartestree Convent.
If you would like to visit the church, it is open every day until 7pm, except for a few hours on Sunday afternoons. Times of Masses and other services are available on this website, as are directions to the Oratory.
